A Table with a Broken Leg
By Pini Eden •

A broken table.
A journey.
A dream to belong again.
This unique story by Pini Eden was born as a children’s tale — and has now become a powerful art project about hope, transformation, and second chances.
🔵 The Story of the Broken Table
A table with a broken leg is a “green book.”
The hero of this story is a solid wooden coffee table.
When one of his legs breaks, he is discarded onto a garbage heap.
From there, our hero sets out on a Roots Trip, a journey back to the rainforests of Brazil, where he once grew and flourished.
The table misses the old trunk he was once part of.
Along the way, he encounters adventures and friendships he never imagined.
This is a story about longing for the past,
and searching for a warm and loving home in the present.
Every broken piece of furniture you see
Was once part of a beautiful tree
That’s why caring for the forests
Is an act of respect.
A compelling story for children aged 4 to 121.
🟢 A Story for Children — and for Us All
The broken table’s journey is more than just a story for kids.
It speaks to anyone who’s ever felt forgotten, flawed, or left behind.
We all need someone to see our worth — even when we feel broken.
🧱 From Page to Project
Inspired by this tale, artist and writer Pini Eden turned the story into a real-world sculpture:a restored table, proudly displayed — showing every scratch, every scar, every story. The project blends literature, childhood imagination, and visual art into one powerful experience.
💬 Children’s Short Version
“One day a party got wild – They danced upon my back! They jumped on me, child after child. One leg of mine went crack!
🤍 Final Thought
We throw things away — and sometimes, people too — far too easily.
This story asks us to slow down, to look again, to care.
Because sometimes, a little love is all it takes to fix what’s broken.
